J-2534 Programming Start to Finish: 3.5 Hours This is an introduction to J-2534 programming and covers equipment, OEM software access and tips, NASTF Locksmith VSP for Key programming, and more. CAN Bus Communications: 4 Hours In this class, we discuss CAN Bus theory of Operation, the three most common CAN configurations of 2002-2016 cars, and look at the emerging technology coming and now on the street in the 2014-2019 cars, Automotive Ethernet communications.

Lab Scope Diagnostics and Pressure Transducer Testing: (2 Nights or 1 day) Hands-On Night 1 or Day 1 Morning Session: Is a Basic lab scope class that covers signal acquisition, basic lab scope testing procedures, Basic set-up of the scope, triggering, time bases, pattern analysis and different applications for lab scope testing in various automotive systems.

We have a function generator, and students will dial in patterns on their own scopes live during the class! Night 2 or Day 1 Afternoon Session: Is a more advanced Lab Scope class. This class introduces the power of pressure transducer diagnostics in today’s super high tech, no start, and intermittent diagnostic scenarios. Learn how to “see” valve problems (Mechanical), VVT issues and more! We introduce PCM/Mechanical signal overlay.

Fundamental Electrical Principles for the Advanced Diagnostician 4 Hours Diagnostics are becoming more complex day after day. As such, technicians of ALL

skill levels need some “grounding” in solid electrical flow and behavior theory – and need help in developing a more workable process for the approach and diagnosis of simple to complex automotive circuits. This class will help the shop and the technician to improve their diagnostic accuracy and efficiency.

Deposits in Diagnostics: 4 Hours This class looks at how fuel and oil depositing play a MAJOR role in getting the diagnosis RIGHT THE FIRST TIME on these modern close tolerance, fast-fuel control vehicles. Deposits in diagnostics is an eye-opening class for techs, advisors, and shop owners alike and talks about critical knowledge that the OEMs are NOT teaching today… Learn how adding this strategy to your diagnosis saves time, unnecessary parts replacement, and fewer COMEBACKS. Introduction to Hybrid and Electric Vehicles, Theory, Service, and Safety: 4 Hours A COMPLETE look at Hybrid technology, safety, basic diagnosis, and basic high voltage system repairs and controls. This class looks at how to understand and work on Hybrid and all-electric vehicles safely. This class Includes theory on function and control of motor generators, power split and planetary gear function high voltage battery service, and more.

GDI Technology, Diagnosis, and Field Issues: 4 Hours This class looks at the two main operating characteristics of modern GDI engines, we discuss the theory of operation, VVT strategies, misfire and depositing issues that are plaguing these cars (and Techs…), as well as some diagnostic strategies specific to these engines

Technology Needs for Today’s Diagnostics: 3 Hours (Owners, Managers, and Techs) This Seminar looks at what capabilities shops need (Equipment) to diagnose modern high-speed vehicles and is a look at scanner, scope and testing software that is capable of helping us to fix newer vehicles. We take a short look at NEAR future technologies and how to prepare for this now, so we do not need new equipment platforms in three to five years.

Diesel Engines Start to Finish: 4 Hours This class goes deep into today’s Common Rail High-Pressure Diesel theory and is packed with information related to understanding and diagnosing these complex types of diesels. In addition to the theory on how common rail works, fuels, and controls air (VGT Turbo and EGR,) we take a complete look at the Aftertreatment Systems, including DOC function and SCR/DEF-Urea functionality and service.
